To help you prepare for the Griffith University STEM Mania competition, here are some important tips and tricks.
You will be uploading photos or video results for your challenges.
Photos will be uploaded directly on the challenge page along with your name, email, school and year level. Don’t worry, this information will not be shared. When your photo appears in the gallery it will have your first name and city only. The other details are for us at Griffith to award you with your prize badge for that challenge. We want to ensure that the correct person is receiving the prize for their work.
Some challenges require you to upload a video. We will be using YouTube for this. To do this:
- Create a YouTube account
- Log into your account
- Select the upload button
- Drag and Drop or select file to upload
- Enter Description (First name and City)
- Set Privacy- we recommend visibility- unlisted (so other competitors can open your link and vote)
- Copy the link and submit in the form on the challenge web page
Introducing our STEM Maniacs
We have created a special area for you to practice doing this now so you are ready for the first challenge that requires a video to be submitted for results. Remember, other competitors can see the videos you are making.
We encourage creativity while maintaining respect for all other people. This practice area is named “Introducing our STEM Maniacs!”
Each week, you, the STEM Maniacs will vote for the Superstar entry of the week. The entry with the most votes will be featured on the Griffith University social media channels. We will contact the Superstar of the week to let them know before we feature their entry- so check your emails regularly. If there is a tie or if no one one votes, the Superstar will be selected at random.
For each challenge that you complete, we will be awarding you a digital badge. Collect all 10 badges and we will award you a certificate.
